OPCO Skilled Management in Mineola, TX is seeking an entry level payroll specialist to support facility payroll, HR operations and benefits processing. This role involves handling employee relations, benefits, leave, and onboarding in accordance with company policies and laws.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 2+ years experience in payroll, strong Excel skills, and a solid understanding of payroll regulations.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma required.
• 2+ years’ proven experience as a payroll specialist.
• Current knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll application systems.
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting and payroll best practices.
• Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
• Must have strong detail orientation and high accuracy level.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate payroll information by completing payroll preparation, reports and maintaining records.
• Maintain semi-monthly payroll for 50-1100+ internal employees.
• Process Time Keeping daily for distribution to department heads for review and correction.
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports.
• Manage payroll variables such as shift differentials and overtime.
• Maintain confidential employee files and ensure audit readiness.
• Document disciplinary actions and compensation records.
• Assist hiring managers with staffing needs and pre-employment screenings.
• Support Employee Recognition programs and HR documentation.
• Act as HR Manager when needed and ensure policy compliance.
