Job summary

Aspida Financial Services, LLC in Durham, NC is seeking a hands-on Payroll & HR Operations Specialist. You will own payroll, benefits administration, and serve as the bridge between People and Accounting/FP&A teams. This onsite role requires accurate data handling and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities cover payroll processing, close packages, headcount reporting, benefits, and HR calendar support. Relocation not required; full-time with full benefits. DOE salary expectations apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or related field.
• 3+ years combined professional experience across payroll, accounting, or HR operations.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Paylocity preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll processing for bi-weekly payroll, bonuses, and final pay.
• Maintain payroll data changes: hires, terminations, salary adjustments, tax withholdings, garnishments, and benefit deductions.
• Maintain multi-state payroll tax registrations and ensure regulatory compliance as we expand into new jurisdictions.
• Reconcile payroll close package and deliver data to book.
• Partner with FP&A on headcount reporting and compensation forecasting.
• Administer benefits enrollment, changes, and annual open enrollment; manage leave tracking.
