Job summary

Workplace Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Payroll & Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Modesto, CA. The ideal candidate will manage payroll processing, maintain records, and ensure compliance with applicable laws.

You will support onboarding/offboarding, administer benefits, respond to inquiries, and collaborate with finance on payroll accounts and reports. A strong eye for detail and solid communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, HR, Finance, or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing and human resources support.
• Strong knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of labor laws and regulations related to payroll and employee rights.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
• SHRM-CP or CPP certification a plus, Spanish Bi-Lingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for all employees on a timely basis.
• Ensure accuracy of payroll data and resolve any discrepancies.
• Maintain employee records and ensure confidentiality of all sensitive information.
• Prepare payroll reports, including tax deductions and benefits contributions.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to payroll and human resources.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and other related matters.
• Coordinate new employees, process terminations, and update employee information.
• Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs.
• Collaborate with finance team to reconcile payroll accounts and prepare financial reports.
