Job summary

The Hillcrest of North Dallas is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage facility payroll and HR operations in line with company policies and applicable laws. You will handle benefits, leave, workers' compensation, onboarding, and employee records with accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include preparing semi-monthly payroll for 50-1100+ staff, maintaining records, and coordinating with hiring managers on staffing needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2+ years’ proven experience as a payroll specialist.
• Current knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll application systems.
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting and payroll best practices.
• Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
• Must have strong detail orientation and high accuracy level.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates payroll information by completing payroll preparation, reports and maintaining records; manages day-to-day payroll and HR tasks with urgency and sensitivity.
• Maintains, prepares, and processes semi-monthly payroll for 50-1100+ internal employees.
• Processes Time Keeping daily for distribution to department heads for review and correction; enters edits indicated by department heads.
• Reconciles payroll prior to transmission and validates reports.
• Manages payroll variables such as shift differentials, overtime, on call, employee status, etc.
• Maintains personnel files and time keeping to ensure accurate payroll transactions and confidentiality; ensures records are audit-ready.
• Documents and maintains all progressive disciplinary actions and performance management related to compensation and merit.
• Coordinates with hiring managers to determine staffing needs; screens and recommends for hire.
