Job summary

City of New York – NYC Health Department seeks an Assistant Director of the Payroll Examination within the Payroll Accounting Unit to oversee daily operations, ensure timely payroll processing, and supervise staff across payroll activities.

Qualifications

• Permanent civil service title Accountant Level or the comparable title of Management Auditor.
• Strong knowledge of payroll policies, regulations, and CBAs.
• Experience supervising payroll staff and ensuring timely processing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the Payroll Examination Unit and meet deadlines.
• Review payroll reports generated by PMS/Pi and related reports.
• Approve retroactive adjustments, special payments, and leave without pay transactions.
