Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is an ongoing, part‑time position designed for someone early in their HR career to gain hands‑on experience in payroll and Human Resources operations. The role will assist with timekeeping audits, payroll reconciliation, and open enrollment support, while gaining exposure to core HR functions under the guidance of the HR Consultant. This role is well suited to a student graduating in December 2026, or a recent graduate, looking to learn and grow in the HR field.

Payroll Support
  • Audit employee time records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policy prior to each payroll run
  • Identify time discrepancies (missed punches, overtime flags, unapproved edits) and communicate directly with managers to resolve disputes before payroll processing deadlines
  • Assist with payroll reconciliation, including comparing time system data (e.g., UKG Ready) against payroll outputs to confirm accuracy
  • Support the HR Consultant’s with payroll processing tasks, including data entry, report generation, and pre-processing audits
  • Respond to routine employee questions regarding pay and deductions, escalating complex issues to the HR Consultant as needed
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of open enrollment materials and communications
  • Help track employee enrollment elections and follow up on outstanding or incomplete submissions
  • Support data entry and reconciliation of benefit elections against payroll/benefits systems
  • Respond to routine employee benefits questions, escalating complex issues to the HR Consultant as needed
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining open enrollment documentation and records
General HR Support
  • Assist with responding to client questions, escalating as needed to the HR Consultant
  • Help manage and maintain the client ticket system, including logging, updating, and tracking tickets through resolution
  • Maintain organized, confidential records related to payroll, time disputes, and benefits
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
  • Follow established SOPs and internal controls for handling confidential employee data
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree with an anticipated graduation date of December 2026, or a recent graduate, in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to professionally follow up with managers and employees
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee pay and personal information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior coursework or internship experience in HR, payroll, or benefits administration
  • Familiarity with UKG Ready, QuickBooks, or similar HR/payroll platforms

In this role, you'll build practical experience in:

  • Employee relations and executive presence
  • Payroll auditing and reconciliation processes
  • Timekeeping dispute resolution and manager communication
  • Open enrollment administration from the employer side
  • Confidential data handling and HR documentation standards
  • This is a 100% onsite position based in Louisville, KY (Nulu area); remote work is not available for this role
