The Claremont Colleges Services is seeking an Assistant Payroll Manager to oversee payroll compliance, auditing, and operational support for seven entities. You will partner with HR and Finance to ensure accurate, timely payroll, improve processes, and maintain internal controls.

This role also serves as a subject matter expert in payroll taxation and regulatory reporting. You will back up the Payroll Manager, participate in system changes, and mentor staff while staying compliant with federal,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• 5+ years in payroll administration or related area.
• Experience supervising payroll staff and using payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international reporting.
• Audit payroll transactions, reconciliations, and tax withholdings.
• Support payroll processing and system testing/upgrades.
• Provide guidance to staff and stakeholders on payroll matters.
