Job summary

City Wide Franchise is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead the payroll function across multiple states and entities. You will ensure accurate, timely compensation and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including union payroll requirements and 401(k) plan administration.

As a key partner to OneHR, Accounting, and Legal teams, you will supervise a payroll team, optimize processes, and implement best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency while safeguarding confidential

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field; CPP highly desired.
• 5+ years of payroll management in a multi-state, multi-entity environment.
• Experience managing payroll regulatory compliance and employment laws across states.
• Union payroll experience.
• Proficient in payroll software (ADP, Paycom, etc.).
• Experience administering 401(k) plans including processing and audits.
• Experience liaising with third-party payroll providers and managing vendor matters.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll for multiple states and legal entities.
• Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws and state tax rules.
• Lead Payroll Specialist and mentor staff.
• Manage union dues deductions and 401(k) contributions.
• Administer year-end processes, W-2s, and reporting.
• Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and Legal to align processes.
• Optimize payroll systems and implement upgrades.
• Respond to payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
