Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Protection (AIP) in Brownsville, TX, is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join the on-site team for day-to-day payroll entry operations and office procedures. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of payroll experience, plus an Associate degree in Accounting or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year payroll experience.
• 1-year Associate Degree in Accounting in lieu of experience.
• US citizen or permanent resident; pass background and drug tests.
• Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling payroll data.

Responsibilities

• Accurately record employee hours in compliance with CBA guidelines.
• Ensure time sheets are fully completed and include required signatures.
• Identify and correct time sheet issues before payroll discrepancies.
• Maintain payroll files and reconcile processed work with weekly/monthly reports.
• Process and maintain payroll correction documentation.
• Answering the phone and responding to emails in a timely manner.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
