Tutor Perini Corporation is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join our office in Los Angeles, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Pay employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks.
2. Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests from employees or supervisors.
3. Issue interim off-cycle checks for layoffs and missed time entries in a timely manner.
4. Understand payroll transactions in JDEdwards, in-house payroll processing.
5. Interact with Payroll, Corporate Accounting, and Division Finance personnel.
6. Assist with filing Certified Payroll Reports (CPRs).
7. Understand payroll tax processes.
8. Communicate effectively via email with employees and managers.
9. Handle challenging situations within time requirements.
10. Understand basic union regulations (overtime, shift differential, annual rate increases per CBA, union penalties).

Requirements:

1. Experience in construction industry payroll processing.
2. Must be organized and detail-oriented.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
4. 5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
5. Experience with union payrolls.
6. 5 years of in-house payroll processing.
7. Experience with JDE (preferred).
8. Adaptable and experienced in meeting challenging deadlines.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
11. Positive and professional approach in day-to-day interactions.
12. Ability to multi-task and remain positive and professional.
