Job summary

Aruza Pest Control, a fast-growing residential pest control company, is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to ensure employees are paid accurately and receive earned benefits. You'll manage payroll, benefits, and HR data with confidentiality, working closely with Finance and the HR team.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and customer-service focused, with experience in HRIS/payroll systems such as Paylocity and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, HR operations, or a related field.
• Experience processing payroll in an HRIS/payroll system; Paylocity experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, deductions, taxes, and payroll reporting.
• Experience administering employee benefit programs.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with HR, Finance, managers, and employees.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet firm payroll deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll accurately and on time for employees across multiple locations and states.
• Review payroll data for accuracy, including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, deductions, PTO, new hires, terminations, and other payroll adjustments.
• Audit payroll information and identify discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
• Process employee changes including new hires, promotions, transfers, pay changes, and terminations.
• Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, tax withholdings, direct deposit, and other payroll-related matters.
• Partner with Finance to reconcile payroll-related reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2s and other required reporting.
• Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll requirements.
• Administer employee benefits programs and open enrollment.
