Nichols Consulting Engineers CHTD is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Specialist to administer payroll, employee benefits, leave programs, HR compliance activities, HRIS data management, and employee support services. This role is based in Reno, NV and reports to the Human Resources Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field.
• 5+ years payroll/benefits admin experience.
• Experience in multi-state payroll and FMLA/ADA leaves.
• Proficient with HRIS and payroll systems.
• Strong Excel and office skills.

Responsibilities

• Process multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Audit time records, PTO balances, deductions, and tax withholdings.
• Maintain payroll and HRIS records with accuracy.
• Administer benefits programs and enrollments.
• Coordinate and manage leave programs (FMLA/ADA/etc.).
• Generate payroll reports for accounting, management, and auditors.
