Job summary

The YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas is seeking a Director of Payroll & Benefits to lead the strategic administration of payroll, benefits, and HRIS across the Association. You will ensure payroll accuracy, maintain employee data integrity, and drive process improvements in benefits administration and reporting.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will collaborate with Finance and Center staff to ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, manage Year-end processes, and oversee open

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in HR/Payroll.
• Minimum 3 years in payroll administration.
• Experience administering employee benefits programs.
• Dayforce HRIS experience preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws.
• Attention to detail and data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll processing for the Association.
• Ensure payroll cycles are accurate and on time.
• Audit compensation entries for hires and status changes.
• Administer withholdings, garnishments, and deductions.
• Coordinate with HRIS/vendor to ensure system functionality.
• Oversee benefits administration, eligibility, enrollments, and deductions.
• Maintain HRIS data integrity and reporting.
