Job summary

The YMCA of southeastern North Carolina is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and benefits administration for a diverse workforce, including full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff.

You will collaborate with Finance, Human Resources, and supervisors to maintain data integrity, payroll accuracy, and compliance while supporting open enrollment and system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and reconciliation skills.
• Experience with multi-department payroll and benefits administration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process semimonthly payroll accurately and on time, reviewing timecards, pay rates, earnings, deductions, reimbursements, adjustments, and other transactions.
• Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation; prepare reports and perform routine audits for accuracy.
• Reconcile payroll activity to the general ledger and research discrepancies.
• Administer YMCA-sponsored medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, and other benefits including enrollments and changes.
• Support system implementations, upgrades, testing, and process improvements.
