Overview of the Role
The Payroll, Benefits & HRIS Manager will oversee day-to-day payroll and benefits administration while serving as a trusted resource for employees and internal teams. This position manages multiple pay schedules, a variety of employee classifications and compensation programs, benefits enrollment, leave tracking, reporting, and related accounting coordination.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for all employees across monthly and semi-monthly pay schedules, including full-time, part-time, and employees working different annual schedules.
- Administer a variety of additional compensation programs, including stipends and supplemental pay.
- Manage employee leave programs, including OFLA, FMLA, and Paid Leave Oregon.
- Coordinate annual Open Enrollment and process benefits enrollments and changes throughout the year.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll and benefits questions and resolve issues in a timely, service-oriented manner.
- Partner with the Business Office to ensure benefits invoices are accurately processed and paid.
- Coordinate payroll information with accounting to ensure employee compensation is properly assigned to the general ledger.
- Assist with annual budgeting related to payroll and benefits.
- Maintain accurate employee and payroll records within the HRIS.
- Prepare payroll, benefits, and employee reports as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive employee and compensation information.
What You Bring
- Strong payroll processing experience with the ability to manage multiple pay frequencies and employee populations.
- Benefits administration experience, including Open Enrollment.
- Working knowledge of FMLA, OFLA, and/or Paid Leave Oregon.
- Experience working with an HRIS and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Comfortable partnering with accounting/finance teams on payroll, benefits, general ledger, and budgeting matters.
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to confidently answer employee questions.
- High level of discretion when handling confidential payroll, benefits, and employee information.
