Job summary

CenterPass is seeking a hands-on Payroll, Benefits and HRIS Manager to own payroll operations and oversee benefits and HRIS implementations in a hybrid setup near Westport, CT. The role drives accurate processing, onboarding, and system integrity while building scalable processes and controls.

Ideal candidates have direct experience with prevailing wage and union payrolls in a multi-state setting, and a track record of implementing HRIS solutions with data migration, testing, and training.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in end-to-end payroll management in multi-state environments.
• Direct, hands-on experience with prevailing wage and union payrolls incl. certified payroll reporting.
• HRIS implementation experience including data migration, testing, and training.
• Experience administering employee benefits and reconciling deductions and invoices.
• Ability to build scalable processes in a startup or fast-changing setting.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll operations: timekeeping, validation, processing, approvals, funding, and post-payroll reconciliation.
• Handle employee changes, earnings, deductions, garnishments, leave adjustments, final pay, and off-cycle payments.
• Establish centralized payroll calendar, procedures, workflows, and backup coverage.
• Coordinate payroll tax filings, year-end reporting, and issue resolution with payroll providers and Finance.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and operations to resolve discrepancies and support payroll accounting.
