Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a payroll and benefits overseer to ensure accurate processing of payroll transactions, deductions, and benefits in accordance with State and Federal laws and GAAP. You will coordinate with employees, management, and vendors to resolve issues and protect confidential data.

Knowledge of SAP Payroll, ACT, and reporting tools will be essential. The role emphasizes data integrity, collaboration with related agencies, and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related core financial management coursework.
• Associate degree in accounting with three years of accounting or auditing experience.
• High school diploma or GED with four years of accounting experience; or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Experience with SAP Payroll module and Employee Self Service.
• Interpreting and analyzing salary overpayment data in the DAC Accounting System (ACT) and applying standard accounting practices.
• Combining multiple data sources (online transactions, reports, queries) to identify root causes of salary overpayments and resolve them.
• Maintain effective working relationships with contact agencies, departmental staff, team members, and the public.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
