Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services is seeking a detail‑oriented Payroll and Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our finance team in California. You will manage payroll processing, benefits enrollment, and related regulatory compliance while handling sensitive information with discretion.

The role requires accuracy, timely data entry, and collaboration with department managers to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth monthly close and vendor payments.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years accounts payable/payroll experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; AA degree preferred.
• Knowledgeable about general accounting principles and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Maintains payroll records and processes payroll in compliance with policies and laws.
• Ensures confidentiality of checks, records and data; discusses employee information only on a need-to-know basis.
• Reviews, adjusts and transmits hours to payroll; codes checks to department for correct cost distribution.
• Receives checks and makes deposits; coordinates petty cash as directed.
• Prepares financial and statistical reports concerning payroll information as directed.
• Verifies invoices and posts to AP system; coordinates with department supervisors on errors.
• Performs month-end close procedures and reconciles accruals.
• Manages leaves (FMLA/CFRA) and benefits enrollment/changes.
