Job summary

Fordham University in New York seeks an Associate, Transaction Services to support the Payroll and Accounts Payable teams through research, analysis and reporting to improve operational efficiency. This role also handles payroll processing for hourly employees.

You will conduct in-depth inquiries, run Payroll/AP reports, reconcile records with the general ledger and assist special projects such as 403(b) audits. Strong Excel/BI skills and at least 1 year in payroll or accounting are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of payroll and/or accounting experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft and Google Office Suites.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
• Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Processing payroll for hourly employees, including timesheet verification.
• Conducts in-depth research and analysis of payroll inquiries from employees.
• Provides comprehensive research on inquiries related to accounts payable, including those from employees, vendors, and various university departments.
• Runs and reviews Payroll/AP reports to identify trends, anomalies, and discrepancies.
• Assists in reconciliations between Payroll/Accounts Payable records, general ledger accounts, and bank statements.
• Records transactions on a monthly basis for Fordham London.
• Reconciles and records transactions for electronic payments.
• Assists in special projects such as 403b audit and unclaimed funds.
