Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to join our engineering-focused team in Orlando, FL. This permanent role drives payroll processing, vendor payments, and balance sheet tasks while maintaining accurate financial records and strong internal controls.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional finance group, prepare monthly statements, assist with budgets and forecasts, and ensure timely payments and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the engineering industry.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, vendor payments, and balance sheet accounts.
• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring all necessary deductions are made.
• Manage timely vendor payments, maintaining good relationships with our suppliers and ensuring continuity of services.
• Handle balance sheet accounts including insurance, rent, and lease, ensuring all payments are accurate and made on time.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure the accuracy of all financial data.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure all financial operations align with company policies.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls and keeping information confidential.
• Participate in financial audits and implement audit recommendations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
