TRC Talent Solutions seeks a Payroll Analyst to process payroll accurately for employees, manage status changes, and ensure timely payments in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

You will analyze variances, support payroll audits, document procedures, and collaborate with payroll tax providers while safeguarding confidential information.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience, including wage calculations, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
• Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll taxes, Social Security, Medicare, wage-and-hour regulations, and payroll reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, and data reconciliation tools.
• Experience using payroll or HRIS platforms and performing payroll audits, balancing payroll registers, reconciling deductions, and verifying accuracy of payroll transactions.

Responsibilities

• Process employee status changes, including new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, direct deposits, and salary adjustments.
• Verify payroll files and payment transmissions to ensure accurate employee payments.
• Analyze payroll variances between pay periods and investigate unusual fluctuations.
• Validate payroll adjustments and document appropriate approvals.
• Identify recurring payroll errors and recommend corrective actions.
