Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Payroll Analyst in Dallas, TX to process weekly to monthly payrolls, validate time records and ensure compliance with wage and tax laws. The role offers a largely remote environment with in-person training, exposure to senior stakeholders, and opportunities to advance payroll accounting skills.

You will handle off-cycle payrolls, garnishments, audits, and detailed reporting in a manual payroll setup using Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll processing across multiple frequencies.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local wage/tax regulations.
• Experience with payroll accounting and reconciliations.
• Experience administering garnishments, tax levies, child support, etc.
• Ability to prepare detailed payroll reports and respond to audits.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls.
• Review time records, earnings, deductions, and adjustments.
• Process off-cycle payrolls including bonuses and final paychecks.
• Maintain payroll schedules and deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with wage/tax laws.
• Administer involuntary deductions per legal requirements.
• Perform payroll audits and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare payroll documentation for audits.
• Operate in a manual payroll environment with strong controls.
• Collaborate to improve payroll processes and reporting.
