Job summary

Corevia Staffing seeks an experienced Payroll Analyst for a Wilmington, DE onsite 6-month contract. You will administer the full payroll cycle, ensure accuracy, manage garnishments, bonuses, and year-end activities, and liaise with Finance and Benefits to optimize processes.

The role requires 8+ years in payroll, strong Workday Payroll expertise, and solid knowledge of payroll taxes, SOX controls, and multi-state compliance. Excellent data accuracy and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience processing end-to-end payroll and equity transactions.
  • Hands-on expertise with Workday Payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll accounting principles, SOX controls, and general ledger reconciliation.

Responsibilities

  • Administer end to end payroll process ensuring successful payroll accuracy rates.
  • Ensure compliance for exempt and non-exempt to include garnishments and bonus/severance coordination/payout/tracking.
  • Assist with resolution of errors and system problems by analyzing payroll data and researching solutions.
  • Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes.
  • Oversee maintenance of payroll files as required by law and company policy; oversee responses to information requests.
  • Assist in establishing payroll procedures and guidelines and troubleshoot payroll problems.
  • Oversee periodic reviews/audits of payroll processes to ensure compliance with policies and laws.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Compensation, and Benefits as a payroll expert resource.
  • Assist Manager with audits, including SOX controls.
  • Review stock options/RSUs/ Dividend Equivalent Units as needed.
  • Participate in testing system upgrades.
  • Review payroll audit reports for accuracy.
  • Participate in all Payroll year-end activities.
  • Improve efficiency by streamlining workflows and reducing manual entries.
  • Collaborate with external providers to align efforts and enhance payroll.

"Performs clerical and administrative activities specific to the human resources function. Maintains and processes confidential information, forms and records. Respond to payroll inquiries. Checks personnel-related documents for accuracy and completeness, maintains files and records of a confidential nature, and prepares periodic standardized reports. Ensure payroll transactions comply with company policies and local laws. Evaluates system and recommends operating efficiency improvements and update payroll documentation as needed (SOPs). Prepares reports illustrating payroll expenditures, including such items as net pay, tax payments and other payroll disbursements. Trains new team members on payroll systems and procedures."

Job Description

  • Assist with resolution of errors and system problems by analyzing all payroll related data and then researching and finding solutions.
  • Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes.
  • Oversee maintenance of payroll files as required by law and company policy; oversee responses to outside information requests as appropriate.
  • Assist in establishing payroll procedures and guidelines as well as troubleshooting payroll problems.
  • Oversee periodic reviews/audits of payroll related processes to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local laws.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the other functional areas such as Finance, Compensation, and Benefits and act as a resource for payroll related requests.
  • Assist Manager with various audits, including SOX controls.
  • Review all Stock Options/Restricted Stock Units/Dividend Equivalent Units as needed.
  • Participate in testing system upgrades.
  • Review payroll audit reports for accuracy.
  • Participate in all Payroll year-end activities.
  • Improve efficiency in payroll processes by streamlining workflows, reducing manual entries, and continuously seeking process improvements.
  • Collaborate with external providers, and stakeholders to align efforts and focus on enhancements.
  • Participation in projects to add value as payroll matter expert.
  • Manage garnishments with an outside vendor which includes
  • Upload garnishment to vendor
  • Manage and audit the garnishment processing entered by the vendor
  • Process garnishment refunds
  • Answer garnishment questions from vendor and employees
  • Lump sum garnishment
  • Complete verification of earnings
  • Assist with the payroll tax process with outside vendor (U.S. ONLY).
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience processing end-to-end payroll and equity transactions
  • Hands-on expertise with Workday Payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll accounting principles, SOX controls, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • In-depth understanding of federal and multi-state payroll tax compliance and wage and hour laws.
  • Proven year-end close experience including W-2 and W-2c processing in Workday and ADP SmartCompliance.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and G-Suite (Excel, Google Sheets)
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to manage confidential material with discretion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with commitment to customer service and ownership
Additional Information:
  • No scheduled extended time off will be approved through March 2027 there will be no one available to cover.

In Office 3 Days per week (Mon, Tues, Thurs) Remote 2 Days per week (Wed, Fri) through September (set date TBD). Will then be transitioning full remote
