Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of multi-state, multi-entity payroll processing experience.
• 2+ years in the construction industry payroll.
• Experience with payroll taxes, garnishments, and wage withholding.
• Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting; construction preferred.
• Strong payroll system skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• FPC or CPP certification preferred.

Our client, a growing construction firm, is seeking a Payroll Administrator to manage accurate and timely payroll for employees across multiple states. This role supports both hourly and salaried employees and works closely with HR, benefits, and finance to resolve payroll issues and maintain compliance.

Responsibilities

• Process recurring payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including time entry, adjustments, bonuses, commissions, and off-cycle payments.
• Review timesheets, approvals, overtime, and pay exceptions before each payroll run.
• Prepare payroll tax filings, reconcile payroll taxes, and coordinate required payments.
• Process garnishments, levies, benefit deductions, and other wage withholdings.
• Prepare certified payroll and prevailing wage reports for applicable projects.
• Apply state-specific requirements for overtime, wage statements, and final pay.
• Support payroll-related audits, year-end reporting, and retirement plan contribution files.
• Maintain clear payroll procedures and work with HR to resolve employee data or pay discrepancies.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of multi-state, multi-entity payroll processing experience.
• At least 2 years of experience processing payroll in the construction industry.
• Experience with payroll taxes, garnishments, and wage withholding requirements.
• Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting; construction industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong payroll system skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• FPC or CPP certification preferred.
