Job Details
Responsibilities
  • Managing the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for payroll.
  • Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.
  • Collecting, calculating, and entering data in order to maintain and update payroll information.
  • Compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, and non-taxable wages and reporting on this.
  • Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Providing payroll information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintaining payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in payroll administration, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction accounting.
  • Proficiency with payroll software, and a strong understanding of payroll tax laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification from the American Payroll Association (APA) would be a plus.
  • A proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion when handling sensitive information.
