Job summary

Legado Talent is seeking a Payroll Administrator to manage accurate and timely payroll for employees across multiple states, supporting both hourly and salaried staff and collaborating with HR, benefits, and finance to resolve payroll issues and ensure compliance.

The role requires multi-state payroll experience, knowledge of wage laws, and familiarity with certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting; FPC/CPP is a plus and attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of multi-state, multi-entity payroll processing experience.
• 2+ years in the construction industry payroll.
• Experience with payroll taxes, garnishments, and wage withholding.
• Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting; construction preferred.
• Strong payroll system skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• FPC or CPP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process recurring payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states.
• Review time entries, approvals, overtime, and pay adjustments prior to payroll run.
• Prepare payroll tax filings and reconcile payroll taxes.
• Process garnishments, levies, deductions, and wage withholdings.
• Prepare certified payroll and prevailing wage reports for applicable projects.
• Apply state-specific overtime and final pay requirements.
• Support payroll audits, year-end reporting, and retirement plan contributions.
• Maintain payroll procedures and resolve data or pay discrepancies with HR.
