Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on, full-cycle payroll experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll requirements, including FLSA and payroll tax rules.
  • Strong Excel skills with payroll reports, reconciliations, imports, and exports.

  • Ability to prioritize deadlines and communicate across the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Support federal and state payroll tax activities (Forms 940/941, unemployment).
  • Apply wage-and-hour, payroll tax, and record-retention requirements.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Accounting, operations to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Contribute to special projects, reporting enhancements, and system improvements.

Join a collaborative payroll team supporting a large, complex construction workforce. In this hands-on administrative role, you will own key parts of the weekly payroll cycle, solve employee pay issues, support certified payroll and prevailing-wage reporting, and help strengthen payroll processes and controls. What You’ll Do
  • Process full-cycle weekly payroll, from time-entry review and payroll staging through balancing and post-payroll activities.
  • Review payroll inputs and outputs for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and complete corrections promptly.
  • Prepare payments and adjustments for travel expenses, paid time off, shortages, and other payroll items.
  • Respond to employee and stakeholder questions with accuracy, professionalism, and timely follow-through.
  • Maintain payroll records, reports, data imports and exports, deduction overrides, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports and support documentation according to contract requirements.
  • Support federal and state payroll tax activities, including Forms 940 and 941, unemployment reporting, and federal tax deposits.
  • Apply current wage-and-hour, payroll tax, and payroll record-retention requirements.
  • Partner with Payroll, Human Resources, Accounting, operations, and branch teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Contribute to special projects, reporting enhancements, system improvements, and cross-training initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on, full-cycle payroll experience.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll requirements, including FLSA and payroll tax rules.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with payroll reports, reconciliations, imports, and exports.
  • Demonstrated accuracy, analytical judgment, discretion, and ability to protect confidential information.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a weekly payroll environment and communicate effectively across the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Construction payroll experience, particularly in commercial, residential, or multifamily environments.
  • Experience with certified payroll, prevailing-wage requirements, worker classifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or another enterprise payroll system.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
