Job summary

Nicholas Pension Consultants, Inc. is looking for a Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing and related accounting tasks from our Rancho Cordova office. This full-time, in-office role collaborates with HR to ensure accurate payroll and compliant reporting.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of payroll experience, multi-state payroll exposure, and solid Excel skills. Experience with Paylocity or QuickBooks Desktop is a plus. Confidential handling of data is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2–5 years of payroll processing experience preferred.
• Experience with multi-state payroll preferred.
• Accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience with payroll/accounting software (e.g., Paylocity, QuickBooks Desktop).
• Experience handling confidential information.
• Experience supporting HR or benefits administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll accurately and timely.
• Review timecards, overtime, leave balances, deductions, and adjustments.
• Ensure payroll records are accurate and compliant with state regulations.
• Coordinate year-end activities, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation.
• Assist with accounts payable/receivable and general accounting tasks.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll and financial information.
