Job summary

Aston Carter in Auburn, WA is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support daily accounting operations in a stable aerospace/manufacturing environment. This on-site role covers payroll, AP, AR, month-end close, and general accounting, with a path toward higher-level accounting leadership as the team grows.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of accounting experience in AP, AR, payroll, or general accounting.
• Experience processing invoices and performing GL coding.
• Payroll experience or exposure.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work on-site in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices and match to purchase orders and receiving documents.
• Code transactions to general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and process weekly check runs.
• Maintain vendor files and records.
• Manage corporate credit card reconciliations and payments.
• Process customer invoices and post incoming payments.
• Assist with customer and vendor billing inquiries.
• Support biweekly payroll processing for approximately 100 employees.
• Assist with month-end close activities including: account reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, depreciation tracking.
• Prepare supporting documentation for audits and financial reporting.
• Cross-train in benefits administration, onboarding, and employee leave support.
• Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed.
