Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. through its Payments division is seeking an Associate in Corporate Development to evaluate and execute strategic transactions, including acquisitions, investments, and partnerships that advance the payments platform.

You will work with senior leaders to build investment theses, perform financial modeling and due diligence, prepare memos, and monitor portfolio performance, balancing deal delivery with long-term platform growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or a related field.
Strong foundation in corporate finance, valuation, and financial modeling.
Experience supporting transaction execution in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior management materials.
Ability to manage multiple workstreams with ownership and minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Lead or contribute to strategic assessments of priority subsectors, informing investment theses, build/buy/partner decisions, and long-term platform strategy.
Monitor industry trends, valuation benchmarks, and emerging business models.
Deliver analytical insights to support strategic priorities and business decision-making.
Support end-to-end execution of M&A and investment transactions, including evaluation, structuring, diligence, negotiation support, and closing.
Perform detailed financial analysis, valuation, and modeling (including scenario and sensitivity analysis).
Coordinate and participate in comprehensive due diligence processes across internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare investment memos, presentations, and materials for senior management and internal stakeholders.
Partner with portfolio companies and internal stakeholders to monitor performance, support strategic initiatives, and inform ongoing capital allocation decisions including: quarterly valuation updates and KPI tracking and performance monitoring.
