Job summary

Tabs is hiring a Payments Operations Manager to run day‑to‑day PayOps and help scale the in‑house payments program. You will work with the Senior Payments Operations Lead to manage merchant operations, disputes, reconciliation, and exceptions as Tabs Pay grows.

You’ll be hands-on, detail-oriented, and focused on reliable processes, issue escalation, and continuous improvement while owning a meaningful portion of daily PayOps tasks.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in payments operations, reconciliation, dispute management, merchant operations, or an adjacent operational function.
• Experience executing payments workflows (reconciliation, dispute processing, ACH returns, merchant management, exception handling) at a payments platform.
• Strong track record of accurate, detail-oriented work in high-stakes environments.
• Ability to follow defined processes and suggest improvements without constant oversight.

Responsibilities

• Process merchant exceptions, holds, reserve adjustments, and activation per policies.
• Execute daily and periodic reconciliation across processor, bank, ledger, and merchant-settlement records.
• Manage dispute and chargeback workflow: collect evidence, track deadlines, ensure timely submissions.
• Process ACH returns and negative-balance events per timelines.
• Investigate and resolve merchant-reported issues within authority; escalate when needed.
• Monitor merchant activity against policy thresholds and flag reviews.
• Maintain runbooks, decision trees, and logs for team use.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose improvements to leadership.
• Track KPIs and prepare PayOps status reports.
• Support cross-functional work with Finance, Engineering, Support, and Commercial teams.
