Job summary

Day One Partners is seeking an Engineering Manager, Payments for a profitable consumer technology company. You will lead backend engineers responsible for subscriptions, payments, and the member experience, owning technical direction and mentoring a growing team.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership with deep Apple StoreKit 2 experience, server-side billing, and scalable infrastructure. You will guide architecture, code reviews, and system reliability while staying close to the codebase.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering management experience and proven team leadership.
• Strong experience with Apple StoreKit 2 and subscription/in-app purchase integrations.
• Deep understanding of server-side payment infrastructure, including webhooks and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small backend team focused on payments, subscriptions, and member lifecycle workflows.
• Own architecture, development, and reliability of backend systems.
• Remain hands-on (~20% coding) while guiding architectural decisions and code reviews.
• Design integrations with Apple StoreKit 2, App Store Server APIs, and server-side billing.
