Job summary

Apple Services Engineering’s Commerce group seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the platform engineering team for the transactional engine powering the App Store and other services. You will build scalable, secure components across languages and regions, ensure reliability and performance, and mentor a growing team.

You will own the technical direction in ambiguous situations, drive architecture, and collaborate with multi-functional teams to meet local market and language requirements.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Engineering, CS or related field required.
• MS degree preferred.
• 10+ years of industry experience with 3+ years in leadership.
• Strong OO design and analysis skills.
• Experience building reusable components and libraries.
• Proficiency with relational DBs, JDBC, Hibernate/JPA.
• Experience with NoSQL (Cassandra, Voldemort, Memcached).
• Familiarity with Spark/Hadoop and big data tech.
• Networking: TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL.

Responsibilities

• As technical leader, design and implement scalable, secure services.
• Contribute to architecture and reusable libraries for caching, messaging, and workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet market requirements.
• Mentor engineers and guide technical direction in ambiguous situations.
