Job summary

Apple Inc. in Austin is seeking a Software Engineer for Payments and Finance Engineering to help design and build core financial capabilities powering Payments and Commerce at Apple, collaborating with engineers across teams.

You will work on scalable systems, implement event-driven architecture, and contribute to data stores, deployments with Docker and Kubernetes, and shipping reliable financial features.

Qualifications

• 4 years designing, implementing & supporting highly scalable systems and services in Java or other JVM-based languages.
• 4 years of experience with different data store technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
• 2 years of experience in Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) and messaging technologies such as Kafka.
• 2 years of experience in financial engineering, knowing how payments/commerce transactions are processed through systems to reflect their accounting and financial impact.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and development of new products while navigating complex, ambiguous challenges. Translate requirements into meaningful, high-quality products that make a real impact.
