Job summary

Raya is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Member Experience server team. You will mentor engineers, own critical architecture decisions, and partner with product, design, and data to deliver high-impact features in a scalable cloud environment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years leading engineering teams and deep Node.js/TypeScript expertise, plus experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and production payments (Apple StoreKit, Stripe) for a B2C product.

Qualifications

• 2+ years managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Deep knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript.
• Familiar with cloud architectures, services, deployment models, and distributed systems (MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
• Production experience with Apple StoreKit payments and Stripe payments for a B2C product.
• Experience with observability, production readiness, and on-call.
• Proven ability to lead projects from concept through launch with cross-functional partners.
• Experience sourcing, screening, hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers.

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and grow a server-engr team, including hiring, onboarding, and career development.
• Provide technical leadership across architecture, system design, and engineering decisions.
• Partner with product, design, and data to define, scope, and deliver high-impact features.
• Oversee scalable, secure cloud services and uphold engineering quality and maintainability.
• Operate as a player/coach with ~50% hands-on engineering contribution.
