Job summary

FT Partners is seeking a Payments-focused Business Development Associate in San Francisco. You will drive origination efforts across the payments ecosystem, identify strategic opportunities, and develop client-facing materials while building relationships with leading payments companies globally.

The role requires 3-5 years in related fields, deep payments knowledge, and strong research, writing, and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, venture capital, corporate strategy, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of the payments ecosystem (acquirers, issuers, networks, processors, payment facilitators).
• Understanding fintech dynamics, regulatory trends, and competitive landscape.

Responsibilities

• Track industry trends, M&A activity, and emerging technologies across the payments value chain.
• Drive deal sourcing and pipeline development through research and analysis.
• Lead targeting strategies, analyze prospective companies, and advance the BD pipeline.
• Collaborate with leadership to enhance diligence and assessment of opportunities.
• Develop client materials and presentations to win new mandates.
• Maintain databases for market intelligence and transaction activity.
