JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Senior Associate in Corporate Development & Partnerships to identify and execute strategic partnerships and, where applicable, investment opportunities that accelerate product innovation and growth in our global payments capabilities.

You will work at the intersection of product strategy and external ecosystem development, collaborating with Product, Sales, Technology, Legal, Risk, and Investments to drive execution and value creation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in fintech, corporate development, investment banking, or a related field.
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with partners and senior stakeholders across product, sales, operations, and technology.
  • Analytical approach to problems, assessing competitive landscape and opportunities, offering solutions.
  • Experience in creating business cases and assessing revenue opportunities, risks, and mitigants.
  • Exceptional financial analysis ability; translating high-level concepts into actionable plans.
  • Proactive, independent, with drive to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience in managing strategic partnerships and corporate development initiatives.
  • Experience in investment banking or supporting roles including capital markets, industry coverage, and/or M&A advisory.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and execute strategic partnerships aligned with Payments' growth objectives.

As a Senior Associate in Corporate Development & Partnerships team, you will identify and execute strategic partnerships—and, where applicable, investment opportunities—that accelerate product innovation and commercial growth across our global payments capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of client needs, product strategy, and external ecosystem development, working closely with Product, Sales, Technology, Legal, Risk, and Investments.

Job responsibilities
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute strategic partnerships that align with Payments’ growth objectives and enhance our service offerings.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and potential partners in the space.
  • Connect into fintech ecosystem to inform research and ensure early engagement with new opportunities.
  • Build strategic business cases including value proposition, target clients/use cases, competitive landscape, economics, and execution roadmap.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, including product, technology, controls, and legal, to ensure seamless integration and execution of partnership initiatives.
  • Conduct diligence for investment and partnership decisions, assessing strategic fit, product/technology, financials, risks, and integration considerations.
  • Support the negotiation and structuring of partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals, commercial outcomes, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of partnerships, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement and optimization.
  • Assist in the development and execution of corporate development strategies, including acquisition and investment opportunities.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in creating business cases and assessing revenue opportunities, risks (including implementation challenges), and mitigants to those risks.
  • Exceptional financial analysis ability; capable of translating abstract, high-level concepts into tangible and actionable project plans.
  • Proactive and capable of working independently with a strong drive to deliver results.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience in managing strategic partnerships and corporate development initiatives.
  • Experience in investment banking or a supporting role, including capital markets, industry coverage, and/or M&A advisory groups.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise payments needs (e.g., pay-ins, pay-outs, treasury flows, acceptance, ERP integrations, reconciliation), preferred.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and human-centered/design-led product discovery approaches.
  • Experience with blockchain or cross-border payments, a plus.
