Job summary

SEACORP is seeking a Payload Control IETM Developer to write, update and edit Integrated Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) for U.S. Navy platforms. You will collaborate with SMEs, research specifications and produce XML-based documentation per S1000D standards.

The role involves working with data modules, graphics, and publication templates, with the potential for coordination of distribution and meeting tight deadlines within a combat systems team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent military experience.
  • 3 years of AN/BYG1 Combat Control System operation and maintenance experience.
  • Experience with IETM development using XML.
  • Knowledge of S1000D and related standards.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Verify technical data with appropriate engineers.
  • Develop data into data modules (DMCs), publication modules (PMCs) and ICN graphics per S1000D.
  • Design new technical documentation standards and templates where absent.
  • Study drawings, specs, mockups to integrate info, procedures and troubleshooting.
  • Review published materials and suggest revisions to scope, format and methods.
  • Edit, standardize or update material prepared by other writers.
  • Participate in project meetings and meet deadlines with team lead support.
  • Coordinate production and distribution of materials.

SEACORP is seeking a well-qualifiedPayload Control IETM Developer.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary :SEACORPis currently looking for a Payload Control ITEM developer. Under the CombatSystems Business Area, the Technical Writer will have a part in the developmentand integration of cutting-edge combat, command and control systems for U.SNavy platforms. The successful candidate will write, update and/or edittechnical documents such as Integrated Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) inXML format, process documentation, technical reports, user guides, andprocedures. The candidate will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs),research and analyze available literature and specifications.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Verifiestechnical data with appropriate engineers.
  • Developtechnical data structured into data modules (DMCs), publication modules (PMCs)and information control number (ICN) structured graphics in accordancewith the S1000D specification.
  • Designnew technical documentation based on existing standards and templates ORcreate new standards and templates where absent.
  • Studydrawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate anddelineate functional and operations information, operating and maintenanceprocedures, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Reviewpublished materials and recommended revisions or changes in scope, format,content, and methods of reproduction.
  • Edit,standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers.
  • Participatein project meetings and meet deadlines with the support of the team lead.
  • Maycoordinate production and distribution of materials.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’sDegree or equivalent military experience.

Experience : 3 years of experience and AN/BYG1Combat Control System operation and maintenance desired.

Ideal Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiencyin MS Office Products required.
  • Experiencewith IETM development, using XML is required.
  • Experiencewith S1000D is necessary and knowledge of applicable military standards,specifications and test practices is desired.
  • Desktoppublishing software to automate authoring and publishing processes fortechnical documentation (e.g. PTC Arbortext, XML Spy, etc.)
  • Graphicsdevelopment software (GIMP, Adobe Design, etc.)
  • Experiencewith Jira and Sharepoint a plus.
  • Theability to work independently and as part of a team, including virtualteams when required.
  • Mustpossess strong written and oral communication skills.

As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship.

Please note that an Active Secret Clearance isrequired on the date of hire.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
