Systems Engineering Associates Corporation (SEACORP) seeks an entry to mid-level Software Engineer I/II in Middletown, RI. The role focuses on analyzing user needs, integrating hardware and software, and maintaining software documentation in a demanding DoD environment.

Candidates should have a BS in engineering or CS concentration with 1–3 years of experience and strong C++/UML skills. Security clearance of Secret is required, with US citizenship.

SEACORP is seeking a well-qualifiedSoftware Engineer I/II.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Description: SEACORP's Electronic Warfare Business Area is seeking entry to mid-level Software Engineers. These candidate will be responsible for tasking, collaborating andinteracting with customers and colleagues, require creative thinking and problem-solvingabilities, as well as strong organizational and presentation skills. Thisideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills,the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and be self-motivated.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
  • Work with other functional disciplines (e.g., project management, acquisition, logistics, security, etc.) to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements.
  • Maintain databases within an application area.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
  • Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system.
  • Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performancerequirements, or resolve customer problems.
  • Direct software programming and development of documentation.
  • Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
  • Confer with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing
    projects.
  • Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system designor maintenance.
  • Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering orElectrical/Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with a field of concentrationin Computer Science.

Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience.

Additional Skills and Experience:

  • Candidates must be proficient in C++ softwaredevelopment and have experience designing software using Unified ModelingLanguage (UML).
  • Candidate must also be proficient in a Linux developmentenvironment and proficient in writing software requirements and designdocumentation.
  • Candidates should have experience using Qt Framework, writingSoftware Requirements Document (SRS) and Software Design Document (SDD), and experienceusing Data Distribution Protocol (DDS).

U.S. citizenship and current DOD Secretclearance are required.

Location: Middletown, RI

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
