Job summary
Merck in USA – Pennsylvania (North Wales) is seeking a US Executive Director of Medical Affairs, Payer & Health Systems Oncology (PHS EDMA, Oncology). The role oversees payer and access strategies for the oncology portfolio and ensures field medical teams execute integrated engagement plans in line with CMAP and Global V&I plans.
The candidate will lead a large field medical organization, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and engage external partners.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree required with ability to lead scientific/medical colleagues
- 7+ years of pharma payer experience, preferably oncology
- 5 years of frontline field medical leadership in pharma or payer industry
- Proven leadership of strategic initiatives and cross-functional alignment
- Able to travel up to 50% and communicate with senior leadership
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic payer medical needs and field medical strategy
- Oversee US payer & access teams and field medical execution
- Ensure compliant ways of working across oncology portfolio
- Develop and manage annual PHS Oncology budget
- Collaborate with external partners for alliance portfolio
- Coordinate scientific congress responsibilities
