Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus in Boone, North Carolina is seeking a Store Shift Supervisor who leads daily operations and delivers exceptional neighborly service to customers and their pets. You will guide staff, uphold PSP standards, and model friendly, knowledgeable interactions while ensuring a safe, clean store environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of retail experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to operate store equipment including a forklift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of retail experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
• Strong sales and customer service skills required.
• Ability to operate all store equipment, including a forklift.
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work flexible schedules, have reliable transportation, and pass drug screening; be 18+.

Responsibilities

• Partner with store leaders to reinforce PSP standards and daily management routines.
• Provide leadership coverage up to four times a week when managers are offsite.
• Adhere to cleanliness, animal care, safety and security policies to ensure exceptional service.
• Learn and perform back-office tasks like signage, price updates and cashier records.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding and team development.
• Communicate improvement opportunities to store leaders.
• Act as team member when not acting as manager-on-duty.
• Willingness to perform pet nail trims.
