Job summary

W-L Construction and Paving, a CRH company, is a major southwest Virginia paving contractor hiring a Paving Roller Operator. Starting pay ranges from $20.00 to $23.00 per hour depending on experience, with responsibilities to operate steel drum and pneumatic rollers across highways, private roads, parking lots and driveways, ensuring density and quality.

The role requires outdoor work in varied weather, long shifts, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Experience operating asphalt rollers on paving projects required.
• Knowledge of asphalt compaction procedures and paving operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate paving roller equipment safely and efficiently during asphalt paving operations.
• Achieve specified compaction and surface quality standards on asphalt projects.
• Work closely with paving crew members and follow direction from the Foreman to ensure production goals are met.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Assist with other paving and labor duties as needed to support project completion.
• Maintain safety policies and PPE requirements and professional interactions with coworkers and the public.
