Job summary

W-L Construction and Paving Inc., a CRH company, is seeking a Roller Operator to join our asphalt paving crew in Virginia. The role involves operating steel drum and pneumatic rollers to compact asphalt on highways, parking lots, and driveways, ensuring density and finish quality.

This seasonal position offers starting pay of $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, with overtime possible. Candidates should have prior roller experience and be able to work outdoors in variable weather and long shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous asphalt paving roller experience required.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Able to work 8–12 hour shifts with overtime as needed.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
• Reliable attendance and strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Must complete pre-employment screening and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Operate paving roller equipment safely and efficiently during asphalt paving operations.
• Achieve specified compaction and surface quality standards on asphalt projects.
• Work closely with paving crew and follow Foreman direction to meet production goals.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Assist with other paving and labor duties as needed to support project completion.
• Utilize power brooms, hand tools, and power tools as required.
• Maintain excellent workmanship with strong attention to detail and safety policies.
• Maintain professional interactions with coworkers, customers, and the public.
