Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Previous heavy highway construction experience preferred.
• Knowledge of compacting procedures dealing with different asphalt mixes.

Responsibilities

• Operate a self-propelled roller with steel drums or solid rubber wheels to compact hot mix asphalt.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures.
• Ride on the platform and control the machine using levers, pedals, or throttles.
• Perform daily checks on equipment (hydraulic fluid, greasing, oil levels).
• Use hand tools as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
