Job summary

Arlington County is seeking a Construction Management Specialist to oversee paving, sidewalk and curb projects within the Maintenance Contract section of the Water, Sewer & Streets Bureau. You will manage contract administration, construction oversight, and field inspections to ensure plans, specifications, schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met.

The role covers a significant portion of the County's $10 million annual paving program, with responsibilities ranging from small projects

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/engineering-related coursework preferred.
• 3+ years in construction management, inspection, or contract administration on street projects preferred.
• Desirable: associate/bachelor's in engineering, architecture or construction management.

Responsibilities

• Manage paving, sidewalk, curb and gutter projects from planning to closeout.
• Oversee contract administration, field inspections, and compliance with plans and specs.
• Coordinate schedules with County and external projects; monitor budgets and timelines.
