Job summary

City of Long Beach in California is hiring for a traffic markings worker in the Public Works Department. Qualifications

• Two years of paid, full-time spray/brush painting experience on streets, curbs, and legends.
• Knowledge of spray-painting equipment, processes, tools, and applications; safety regulations.
• Ability to read and understand work orders and engineering plans; operate computers/tablets/handheld devices for work orders.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds; willingness to comply with Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.

Responsibilities

• Apply traffic and parking control markings using conventional/airless systems.
• Perform thermoplastic pavement marking operations with various equipment.
• Post and maintain traffic regulatory, warning, and guide signs.
• Assist in layout of new work according to blueprints and legal requirements.
• Plan work and place barriers to minimize traffic interference; observe safety regulations.
