Job summary

City of Long Beach is seeking a civil/traffic engineer to supervise engineering and administrative staff in the Traffic Engineering Division of Public Works and the Harbor Design Division. The role oversees signing/striping, traffic control, signal timing, ITS, and related traffic research and design.

Applicants must be a registered Civil or Traffic Engineer in California with 5+ years' experience; one year at engineer level preferred.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Civil Engineer or Traffic Engineer in California (proof required).
• Five or more years of professional traffic/transportation engineering experience after graduation or after E.I.T. with at least one year at engineer level (proof required).
• Proof of required documents, such as degree or transcripts, must be uploaded to the online application and contain identifying information.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineering and administrative staff in Traffic Engineering and Harbor Division design activities.
• Oversee design of signing, striping, traffic control, signal timing, and ITS.
