The City of Ventura is seeking a Public Works Supervisor for the Pavement Maintenance Section within the Public Works Department. This role plans, organizes, and supervises pavement maintenance operations including asphalt and concrete work, while coordinating with private contractors and ensuring safety and quality standards.

The position requires supervisory experience, a related degree or equivalent experience, and knowledge of CMMS.

Formación

• Combination of education, training and experience as specified: Bachelor's degree in a related area with 2 years of related experience, or an Associate's degree with 4 years, or 6 years overall experience.
• One year lead or supervisory experience is required.
• Possession of IMSA Work Zone Traffic Control Safety certificate within six months of employment may be required.
• Valid California Class C driver's license may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise, lead, and coordinate pavement maintenance staff; assign work, inspect operations, and evaluate performance.
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate employees; address performance issues, administer City policies, and promote workplace safety.
• Provide technical guidance to staff and interpret personnel policies and labor agreements.
• Plan, implement, and oversee pavement maintenance programs; maintain CMMS records.
• Develop budgets, requisitions, and cost estimates; monitor expenditures and materials.
• Conduct field inspections and infrastructure assessments; identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs.
• Review plans and specifications; oversee project implementation and inspect contractor work.
• Prepare and maintain reports, schedules, and procedures; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Respond to inquiries, complaints, emergencies; coordinate corrective actions.
• Coordinate maintenance with other departments, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
