Job summary

The City of Camarillo is seeking an experienced public works professional for the role of Assistant Maintenance Superintendent. This position oversees maintenance programs across streets, landscaping, irrigation, trees, traffic systems and related infrastructure.

Applicants should have strong supervisory skills, be comfortable leading multiple crews, plan and schedule work, and manage contracts and budgets. A ISA Arborist credential is desirable and knowledge of safety practices is essential.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade and five years of progressively responsible experience in public works maintenance, construction, or a related field.
• Certified Arborist credential from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise multiple crews and coordinate complex maintenance programs.
• Prepare specifications, manage contracts, and monitor budgets.
• Analyze operational problems and implement effective solutions.
• Communicate effectively with staff, management, contractors, and the public.
