Zusammenfassung

The City of Ventura is seeking a Public Works Supervisor to lead the Pavement Maintenance Section within the Public Works Department. You will oversee asphalt and concrete pavement and sidewalks, coordinate work with private contractors, and mentor staff while ensuring safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities include budgeting, planning maintenance programs, inspecting work, and maintaining CMMS records.

Qualifikationen

• A combination of education, training and experience equivalent to completion of a bachelor's degree in a related area and two years of related experience, OR an Associate's degree and four years of related experience, OR six years of related experience.
• One year lead or supervisory experience is required.
• Certificate: IMSA Work Zone Traffic Control Safety within six months of employment is required.
• License: Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license may be required.

Aufgaben

• Supervise pavement maintenance staff; assign work, inspect operations, and evaluate performance.
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate employees; address performance issues and promote safety.
• Plan, implement, and oversee pavement maintenance programs; preserve City infrastructure and maintain CMMS records.
• Develop budgets, requisitions, and cost estimates; monitor expenditures and resources.
• Conduct field inspections and infrastructure assessments; identify maintenance needs and support capital projects.
• Review plans, oversee contractor work, and ensure compliance with standards.
• Prepare reports, records, maintenance schedules, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Respond to inquiries, complaints, emergencies, and after-hours service; coordinate actions.
